They're all great in their own different ways (especially I and III). I think the original is very lyrical and beautful, like the entire soundtrack. The third was classic Ifukube, and one of his better military marches. The second is alright, but come on - everyone knows the best part of that soundtrack was Bio Wars! :D

The Biollante one is actually a very pleasant tune, but works a best in the end credits compared to in a heated battle. Much like the music for that film as a whole, it makes a great independent listen - much better, IMO, than any Ifukube music does - but doesn't quite synch up thematically with their respective moments in the movie.

The first one. Said it before and I'll say it again, it was the best non-Ifukube score in the series up until GxMG

Super X 2, by far!!
I thought it worked brilliantly for the pitched battle at sea with Godzilla.

I like the first Super X theme, too. And as much as I love Ifukube's work, I just find the Super X 3 theme to be a bit dull. Definitely the weakest of the three.

It's probably because I've seen Godzilla 1985 so many times, but I prefer the Super X-1 theme, just listening to it made me want to watch that again. Unfortunately, it's 12:30 am and i still live at home, so that will have to wait for another day.
Ifukube's Super-X theme, though, fits very well in with the rest of his music, and the similarities between it and the classic godzilla theme we all know and love really evoke the image of something equally powerful, yet opposite- clearly the enemy.

I have no idea why, I just really, really like the theme for the first Super-X. Always have. Reijiro Koroku is just the man. Hell, his entire score for The Return of Godzilla is one of the series' best, in my opinion. His theme for Godzilla just captures the essence of the character so perfectly for that movie. It's a damn shame that he never scored any subsequent Godzilla movies. I know Godzilla vs. Biollante would have been MUCH better off with Koroku doing the score than the mediocre product turned in by Koichi Sugiyama. Indeed, Godzilla vs. Biollante is an amazing movie in nearly every aspect of it. It's Achilles Heel is just the music score, which is just plain mediocre. Some good tracks, some bad tracks (including the almost-cringe-worthy Super-X2 theme), but overall an out-of-place feeling to have such a mediocre score in a movie that excels in all other aspects. A Koroku score definitely would have suited that movie so much better.

Oh, and Ifukube's Super-X3 theme is pretty kickin' too. In fact, I'd say that theme is cooler than the aircraft itself.

I prefer the Super X theme(from Return Of Godzilla). It is has, IMO, a more methodical, determined quality to it. :th-up:

Even though I must say the theme for the first one caught the drama more, the second one gripped me more then the others. There is just something about it I like more then the others. So I'm going with Super X 2.
