I loved the Heisei series emensly and I thought Junior becoming the new King was a great way to end but at the same time I've always wanted to see the "Adventures of" Junior aka Godzilla. It would have been a different dynamic to the series because he does have a connection to humans. The first thing he ever saw was a human being and his connection to Miki would have added even more to the possible storylines.

Yea I was fine the with the end of GvsD it's just the fact of not knowing what happens to Jr that gets me all the time lol It would have been nice for him to a have a lil saga or something on the side though.

I wish the ending to Godzilla vs. Destroyah could have been a bit longer. Really, it was too abrupt. This idea didn't come to me until after I saw The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King, but I reckon some of the story threads in the Heisei series could have been wrapped up in a neat bow.
For example, some reference to the changed timeline by the Futurans and how Japan will probably still become the superpower of the world with Junior at their aid. They also could have covered what became of Mothra (I know she appeared in Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, but I don't know what happened because I haven't seen it). Finally, I wanted to know what happened to Junior. Was Miki still able to communicate with him (her powers were supposedly dwindling)? Would he have become the docile protector of Japan, and possibly the world, along with Mothra?
It's all hypothetical, and I like the film the way it is, but seemed as though they rushed through the whole thing to get the series out of the way to make way for some crappy American version that had no worthy continuing universe that anyone would have been interested in.

Godzilla vs. Destroyer is one of my favorites. Was it a gimmick? Not in a sense of D.C.'s killing of Superman. I honstestly think Toho thought this would be a last Godzilla movie, with Sony's Godzilla only two years out. Hollywood was expecting Sony's Godzilla to be a huge franchise, and Toho was bracing for that. Do you think that Toho would have continued to make Godzilla movies if Sony's Godzilla was successful? No, they would be laughed out. There would be Hollywood making this multi million dollar Godzilla movies and sequels, compared to the few measly millions Toho could provide, do you actually think any company would put themselves at that risk. But, lucky for us, Sony's Godzilla failed, and Toho was able to make Godzilla films again, so in a sense, Godzilla's dying wasn't a gimmick.
As for revisisting the Heisei universe, I'm working on a comic idea for it, so hopefully people will not only see it, but like it.

The szene when you finaly can see the full grown Godzilla jr. ist in my opinion one of the best in the Heisei-Series. Godzilla melds away and all think he is gone forever then the camera goes through the fog and you see the new one. That was the best ending of a Godzilla movie.
