I think it's the worst of the Heisei series, if for no other reason than it's a pointless remake. It's just a bland, boring, run-of-the-mill movie. The fights are unmemorable, the characters are unmemorable, Godzilla's portrayal is unmemorable, and the SFX are unmemorable albiet flashy. If there's a bright spot, it's Ifukube's wonderful score. The idea of a yin-yang sort of Mothra/Battra conflict is really cool, but ruined by a convenient ending that has Battra switching sides for no phriggin reason.

This is probably my favorite heisei movie,I'd have to go with the exact opposite of what Cy said,I love the plot,characters,special effects,and the Battra changing his mind about Mothra. When the ferris wheel fell on her,I was totally sure she was going to die,and then you see his little bug hands catch it,I was absolutely freaking out,I actually stood up out of my chair. Can't recommend this movie enough.
