From what I've heard it does seem that they whiffed on the ending of this one.
I wonder how much was known about the nearly contemporaneous Gamera v Legion, wich also had a monster with a mutiple form (Legion) and one with a chest ray (Gamera).

I would have prefered the other ending as well since the battle was much longer but the final cut is still very good so no problem for me.

I always felt somewhat cheated by this film's ending. Godzilla, not the JSDF, should've struck the final blow against Destroyer right before he melted down.
Still, it's a well-done ending for the Heisei era, ending the series on a high note.

AWESOME SIG HYBRID! That's just plain funny!
You know, I would like the GMK suit MUCH better if it was as well proportioned as that figure. It might well be in my favorites, instead of the oddly-proportioned, bendo-necked thing we got.

Anyway, thanks. If sigs attracted chicks I'd be the most popular man in the world, considering how many complements I've gotten for "Godzilla 1895" (except for my friend who complained that it wasn't historically accurate; that cowboys were from the 1880s.)
