Keep Raymond Burr, lose corporal dipshit and the Dr Pepper ads. Seriously the injected humor is what kills the dub for me. Other than that, I'm a fan of G 1085

Sounds like a worthwhile project to try stabbing at.

If I had materials, I'd try it. I was thinking the same thing too. Keeping Burr's scenes (minus dipshit officer) as well as his dialogue at the end AND the ending song from the Japanese would be a good way to cap things off.

Maybe even rearrange some scenes.

While Godzilla does stumble around and occasionally look drunk, there are moments when he is truly terrifying. I also love the score for this film - the atmosphere is really fantastic. This was actually the first Godzilla movie I ever saw, so for me it is special.

It's one of the more "two faced" suits there is. Most suits look more or less the same from all angles in terms of quality. The suit in this film looks awesome from some angles, drunk and stupid from others.

I would also have to echo that this was one of my first Godzilla films, and maybe that's the reason I hold this film to be so special. There's something about the way that Godzilla is depicted in this film, that's absolutely terrifying as a kid. To this day, this is still how I prefer Godzilla to look and act if he's going to portrayed as terrifying. Yes, sometimes Godzilla looks drunk. Some views of the suit aren't very flattering, but when the movie works, it really works.

One of the three Heisei movies that I even watch anymore and one of only three G movies that I saw in the movie theater. One of my favorites. I think one of the reasons why this movie is cool to me is because it was the first new Godzilla movie in 10 years after I had seen my very first Godzilla movie. By the time G'85 had come out, I had already watched all of the previous Godzilla movies on Creature Double Feature and such, and when I saw that a new Godzilla movie had been made, I was stoked! A local comic book shop that specialized in stuff from Japan where I used to hang out at had already had images and a couple of books of the new Godzilla almost a year before it was released over here. I was like kid in a candy store. As for the movie, I like it. I like his drunk look, I like the music, (which seemed to fit for that time... It sounded like 80s music for a Godzilla movie) I like his second battle with the Super X after he woke up, it was just a good G movie.
