^ Well, Destroyer is, anyway.

Seriously, though, maybe it's just me but I've never found '84's FX work to be that great: It always looks more like a model set than the rest of the series. Maybe it's the lighting, bit it always looks like a bunch of toys, especially the train. In fact, now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure it is the lighting. It needs more smoke & fog to make everything look bigger; this has been shown to work to great effect on films like Star Trek III, why not G'84? We see it being employed in most if not all the later movies of the Heisei era.

Not to be a whiner, just...saying.

I never noticed any stock-footage in Godzilla 1985 and Godzilla vs. Biollante. Must have done it pretty damn good then. But the stock-footage of the jets in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah was plain obvious. Yuck! And am I the only one with no complaints about this cybot thing? I thought it looked pretty good.

By the way, what's so bad about Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla? I haven't seen this one yet, but from all the pictures I've seen from it and the clips of it I saw on the Godzilla Movie Studio Tour CD-ROM, it doesn't really look that bad. But hey, I might be wrong.

Well, it's not as bad as some folks say, but it ain't terribly good either. It's rather a descent or okayish flick.

This really is one of the best of the dynasty. Yeah they did great work with the miniatures, but i felt that G could've been just a little larger when compared to how big they made the buildings. Not much, mind you. He just seemed to be dwarved by modern skyscrapers (and my image of G from childhood is WAY larger than that).
