Is Godzilla vs. Mothra'92 any good?

I just saw Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and thought it was pretty good, besides the atrocious acting of those airhead American navy officers. What the hell was the point of them even speaking? I've seen better acting and scripted dialogue in an Ed Wood movie, and that says a lot. But other than that, it fairly well done, in my opinion.

So now, I'd say that my local foreign language channel SBS may have more Heisei films in their schedule later in the year. But yet again, they might not. They're an unpredictable channel, so I might not see another Heisei film for a long time. But if they do put more on, Godzilla vs. Mothra would naturally follow.

Is it any good?

It you can get past the oft-mentioned preachyness and the fact that Godzilla does not reallyneed to be in the story, this is great fun.I may have watched this more than any other Heisei film. The effects are excellent[Battra's transformation is awesome],the action is non-stop after the first 20 or so minutes and the film has a lovely childish sense of wonder about it.Some scenes from G V M'64 are recreated and improved upon although overall ofcourse it's not quite as good.Probably not the best Heisei but probably my favourite.

Well,it's definately an awesome movie. The Battra larvae is incredible, and there's awesome fight scenes. The cinematography is excellent, but since the original poster hasn't seen the film,I won't get into specific scenes. The effects are very realistic (compared to kaiju films),the suits are great, and Battra's design (both forms) is very imaginative, and it has a really powerful story about humans destroying the earth (allthough some audiences may find this lame). I hear a lot of people knock on the heisei international dubs, but I got goosebumps during the Cosmos Twins'final monologue. Overall, even though you live in Australia (I think),it's probably worth importing the DVD from America, since you get Gvs.KG with it,and you like that one. I'm not sure if North American Region 1 DVD's work in Australia, though.

Drax,

Is there by any chance that your station will be able to air some of the Showa Godzilla films? Seeing those Heisei era flicks uncut, you'd be pretty much shock to see how much is cut from the Showa Godzilla era. Especially TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA.

There are some Double Features being released by Siren Entertainment, such as King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster and Destroy All Monsters, but they're the same old crappy Pan 'n Scammed English-dubbed versions.

Treatment of us Down Under is just as bad.
