I just finished watching Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (Heisei of course) for the first time in probably 9 years. Over the years I had managed to forget one of the STUPIDEST bits of
science to ever INFECT a Godzilla movie.
This of course being the location of a second brain for Godzilla...up his @ss.
Now, given my love of Drive-In, Exploitation, and of course Kaiju films I'm more than just a little open minded.
But, even I had to wonder what Godzilla might do with a brain located in such an undignified location.
The film's "science" states that if you destroy that posterior brain, Godzilla won't be able to walk. So the @ss-brain controlls his motor leg functions? He needs an entire second brain for that?
A bit odd considering that in almost every other animal on the planet Earth with motor funtion; the act of walking is almost operated on an instinctive level with very little need for complex brain usage.
Even in other reptiles.
Which of course means I have to mention that no other reptile on Earth, that I know of, has a second brain located up their @ss, or anywhere else for that matter.
I can't help but think that this might have been where the steam started to run out of the ol' Heisei era franchise.
By all means, what do you think?
