GvKG 1991 --- HUH?
When I first saw Godzilla vs King Ghidorah 1991, I hated it. I thought it was an American bashing, goofy, time traveling MESS.
I've mellowed with age and I have a lot more interest in the film. What I thought was American bashing were actually attempts at humor to lighten the mood of the WW2 stuff up.
But, the Time travel stuff in this movie still makes no damn sense...
OK the time travelers remove the Gojisaurus and put the Dorats in place so that history creates King Ghidorah instead of Godzilla.
But, when they get back to the present, everyone should have completely forgotten Goji, but he is still being talked about etc...
Now you could write this up as only those people who were on the mission remember Godzilla. Except his book publisher calls him about the Godzilla book he is writing.
Now, if everyone remembering Godzilla was a product of theie mission failing, shouldn't they have then realized that they failed to wipe Godzilla out of history?
Further confusion ensues when we learn that the Dinosaur was now mutated via a product of spilled Atoomic waste, making it a modern nuclear creature.
How Modern?
How does that affect the history established in G54 and G84?
Has Ghidorah been a threat to humanity since the 1950's? If he is supposed to be so powerful and unstoppable, how come he wasn't able to destroy the Earth over a period of 40 years?
Why do they keep insisting Godzilla looks larger when he clearly looks the same as when the movie started?
I'm so confused.
