"Damn! We are lethal weapon!"-maybe the single silliest line in any G movie.
I have tons of mixed feelings about this movie. It has a great looking Godzilla suit, but one that can barely move. It has an epic scope, but sabatoged by ludicrous lines as mentioned above or whole scenes where the cast communicate in incomprehinsable english. And don't even get me started on the "Batman mitai datta!"
But to up the film, watching it in 1990, it had a plausibility. Anti-Nuclear Bacteria was not too far removed from the oil spill eating bacteria I was reading about in development in the papers, and the abundance of psychic Japanese children was at least in the perameters of at least popular belief in Japanese of my age group at the time.
It set a nice ground work for the new Heisei G universe.

The cursing is the best part, especially when the Bio-Major guys yell "S**t!" in those hilariously fake American accents.
And the Saradian agent was B4D A55

This is my favorite of all the Heisei movies, that it almost seems unfair to lump this film as part of the 90's series.
Here you had a pretty good storyline regarding Godzilla's cells, you had one of the more interesting characters in this series, Colonel Gondo, you had a practical use for Miki Saegusa (something we would not see at least in the next two features), a great looking monster in Biollante (Godzilla looks pretty good as well, though I would tire of this design later on in this series), plus effective and imaginative effects from Koichi Kawakita, something that I could not say for the later entries.

Godzilla vs Biollante has a lot in common with Godzilla 1985: Out of all the Heisei series those two have held up the best.
