I remember those two complaints, but I've never completely gotten them. I never found anything confusing about the film, but I guess I could admit it must have spread itself a little too thin if this many people are complaining about it.

I never had a problem with the music though. I've never even seen it called a masterpiece, but I do agree it's one of the better Godzilla films, top 10 material, and it's certainly far above the other other Heisei entries...which doesn't take much.

I thought that Miki managed to briefly change Godzilla's course?
I really need to re-watch this.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Yeah. I find most complaints about the score to be grossly exaggerated. A lot of it is actually pretty good, IMOHO.

I can understand not digging Manabe's score, but disliking this movie because "the score is ass" doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's really not that bad.

The general consensus with a lot of fans seems to be that different=bad, especially when it comes to the scores in these movies. I don't understand this line of thought at all.

Why is (Godzilla 1984) in parentheses? Is this some sort of theoretical Godzilla 1984?
