[quote="Severn"][quote="CyHunter"]I'm surprises I've never seen anyone else do this before (darn you, GvsKG!)

65,000,000 B.C.: An asteroid hits earth, setting off a cataclysm of events that extinguishes the last of the dinosaurs, save for a breed of amphibious, territorial beasts called Gojirasaurus near the Pacific islands, which survive by existing in extremely low numbers.

5,000+ B.C.: An ancient civilization in a nearby region creates Battra, the first kaiju to ever ravage humankind. The anti-Battra, Mothra, defeats the insectoid, but not before Battra obliterates the society completely.

1944 A.D.: Japanese soldiers on Lagos Island are nearly killed by Allied forces until a huge Gojirasaurus protects its territory, inadvertently defeating the U.S. troops. However, it is mortally wounded. The Japanese soldiers salute it, but leave it for dead. The creature survives and heals, and continues to terrorize island natives who believe it is a god.

1954 A.D.: H-Bomb tests on Lagos Island mutate the Gojirasaurus into a massive, 50-meter-tall creature, dubbed Gojira (hence the species name; adapted into English as Godzilla). It attacks several boats and eventually coming ashore and attacking mainland Japan. Its strike, punctuated by the completely leveling of Tokyo, is finally stopped when Dr. Serizawa unleashes his Oxygen Destroyer on it in a suicidal attack. Unbeknownst to them, the Oxygen Destroyer begins to awaken a hibernating microscopic Precambrian life form, which thrives on a lack of atmosphere.

1972 A.D.: Miki Saegusa born in Kanagawa on May 9th.

1985 A.D.: Sea lice mutated to giant proportions are discovered, having fed off of Godzilla, who has mysteriously reappeared. Various failed attempts to stop him occur, including using the hovercraft Super-X. Eventually, Godzilla is lured to a volcano and trapped in it, providing a molten prison that may or may not kill the beast. In the wake of the attack, G-Cells become a hot clack market commodity. The ruthless BioMajor Corp. attempts to steal G-Cells from the scene of Godzilla’s attack, but the cells are in turn taken by a hitman-for-hire to the Middle Eastern nation of Saradia, where Dr. Shiragami is employed to use them to develop a durable form of crop. However, when his daughter Erica is tragically killed in a bombing on his lab, he devotes himself to preserving her spirit by mixing her DNA with that of a rosebush and Godzilla.

1990 A.D.: The work of Shiragami reveals itself to be a monstrous-yet-noble entity dubbed Biollante. Terrorists release Godzilla from his volcanic trap, and the two creations ultimately do battle. As Godzilla is defeated by the combined efforts of Biollante and the JSDF’s Anti-Nuclear Bacteria, the plant-monster disappears into orbit, Erica escaping to peace.

1993 A.D.: A meteoroid falls into the sea, awakening Godzilla and creating a storm that uncovers a giant egg—that of a brand-new Mothra. As this new Mothra hatches, this in turn awakens Battra. In the end, Mothra and Battra reluctantly team up and send Godzilla into an underwater prison, and then the two finish their eons-long battle—Mothra kills the villainous Battra and heads off to space to intercept a meteor due to hit earth in the year 1999.

1994 A.D.: A pteradon-like creature called Rodan is discovered on Adonoa Island, in addition to a mysterious egg. The egg is taken to a lab for study. Godzilla fights (and kills) Rodan. Psychic Miki Saegusa and her trainees come up with a tape of psy “musicâ€

I have to admit I'm amazed by how much trouble people have with the Heisei timeline. When I first saw GvsKG back in 1992 I thought it was an entertaining but poorly-written film. Later when I started seeing "continuity and conundrums" articles in G-Fan and online I was baffled by the outrageous and ludicrous theories people were suggesting. As I said before, any explanation that requires a lot of fan-created events that were never shown onscreen is junk IMO.

If you've seen the Godzilla movies, the timeline is simple. Just watch the movies and go with what Toho said.

1944: Dinosaur moved to Bering Sea exactly as it was is shown in GvsKG
1954: Bikini H Bomb test. This occured on March 1.
1954: First Godzilla (50 meters tall) attacks and is killed by the Oxygen Destroyer exactly as it happened in the original GODZILLA.
Late 1970s: Nuclear sub accident in Bering Sea creates 2nd Godzilla (80 meters tall) from dinosaur. This is shown in a newspaper headline in GvsKG. Most fans miss it because it's in Japanese, but Terasawa also mentions it.
1984: 2nd Godzilla attacks Japan and is dumped in Mt Mihara just as it happended in the 1984 GODZILLA.
1990: Events in BIOLLANTE. Godzilla is infected by ANB and retreats to the Sea of Japan.
1992: Events in GvsKG.
1993-1994: Events in GvsMOTHRA and GvsMGII happen just as was shown in the movies.
1995: Events in GvsSG. SPACE GODZILLA refers to events in BIOLLANTE, proving that film is still part of the timeline.
1996: Events in DESTOROYAH. GvsD makes several references to the original GODZILLA, and states clearly that the first and Hesiei Godzillas are not the same monster.

If anyone's still confused then they're on their own. I doubt I can explain it any more simply than that.

Well since Cy assumed some stuff from a few years after Gvs.D I might as well add something...

Considering everyone is "fine, and happy" with no more disturbances we also have to assume that Mothra had successfully destroyed/intercepted the asteroid that was destined to hit Earth in 1999. Something like that would easily lead to things such as, G's reawakening, destruction of mankind, (which obviously was disproved since Emi had stated how powerful Japan became and how nothing ELSE had affected the planet.)

Can't really add much....and maybe because I've watched all the latter five Heisei movies 100s of times (my VHS's are dieing  ) I can actually understand kpa's timeline! But another thing to remember is that the Futurians coming was destined to happen anyway. Technically (going into Matrix like explanations) the event of the Futurians coming in 1992 would happen no matter what, as destiny had already chosen so. The choices/possibilities, that could occur (1992 ppl not trust Futurians, not creating MG2, not making MicroOxygen, and even the certain things they did during time travel, like letting the Dorats go) technically cannot be changed...It's already chosen. So we have to keep in mind that no matter what, something would have to loop in order to allow this timeline to happen.

Also someone please explain when it was stated the G54 and G84+ were different...I don't remember hearing that in Gvs.D.

Well, I think they always referred to it as "the first" or "original" Godzilla, and it's destruction at the hands of the OD was fairly central

Personally I never got Steve's comment that a "body was never recovered". A, THE AUDIENCE SAW IT DISSOLVE, and B) If it was killed by the OD, no body SHOULD'VE been found in the first place, since it would've been evaporated, so to speak
