This is according to Japanese texts on the subject.
What's the big dispute? This is no different that the change in Godzilla suits from GODZILLA and GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN, or the change in suits from KING KONG VS. GODZILLA and GODZILLA VS. THE THING. Or why they changed the head on the suit between GODZILLA VS. THE THING and GHIDRAH, etc., etc. Why did they do this?
