"Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster" appreciation t

Postby Legion » Sat May 01, 2004 1:42 pm

As a few of us here might know, December 20th represents the 40th anniversary of Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster, the first appearance of King Ghidora and the first Toho film to include more than two kaiju in the cast.

Use this thread to discuss the film, maybe how and when you first saw it and what you think of it. I'll add my comments later.

Does anyone else listen to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" and think of "Save the Earth?"

It's a shame the Japanese version of Ghidrah isnt widely available. It's so much better than the American cut.

I just watched the Japanese version again yesterday. I can't stand to watch the horribly dubbed and edited American cut anymore. There's no comparison between the two.

What a movie. This has got to be one of the most entertaining films in the entire series. It's kind of like watching two movies in one, since both the monster elements and the human story are so well-developed, but I don't think either one detracts from the other. Add in some awesome fights, an excellent music score, a cast of veterans, and Godzilla's greatest foe ever, and you've got one terrific piece of film.

What you've all failed to mention is how hot the martian girl was. :)
