Nice review! Only thing is, if you are presenting this to non-fans, at the beginning you may want to draw a distinction between Godzilla X Mechagodzilla and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla '74, as you mention both.

Nice read though!

Having been fortunate enough to see this film on the big screen about 7 years ago (in 35mm, no less) I can say it's quite enjoyable. Mostly uncut, it makes more sense than any of the video versions out there.
Of course, the added prologue for tv is a lot of fun, almost makes you think you are seeing a brand new Godzilla film.

this is my one of my favorite (if not the favorite) G movies. I know the suit is pretty bad, but for some reason i never get bored this movie. Mecha godzilla and Titanasaurous are a great team. The fights scenes are great and the city destruction scenes rule. Titanasaurous is a great kaiju. TOHO BRING HIM BACK!!!!!!!! :)

One of the best in the Showa series. The destruction scenes and the pyrotechniques were beautifully choreographed. Mechagodzilla's arsenals were just devastating!

the movie was good, was return of ishiro honda, had a great plot, a great way of remaking mechagodzilla, another great kaiju (titanosaurus), and also the greatest part of all it didn't seem like a kids movie

Just saw TOM

I only got an opportunity to watch this movie for the first time in uncut form last week. The version I saw was Pan & Scan and dubbed but nevertheless was great. Now I'd like to see it widescreen and subbed!
