Megalon & MechaGodzilla versions

I recently had the pleasure of watching the Japanese Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla DVD and I was astounded as to how different the original is from the version I have seen in the US. I missed the last showing on the Sci-Fi channel, does anyone know what version they show? Also, what about Megalon? I have a feeling that the version of Godzilla vs. Megalon that I own is also severly edited. Does anyone know?

I think we can thank KPA for getting letterboxed Godzilla movies (the three 70s ones they show) on Sci-Fi. They look so much better than the murky versions we've been saddled with over the years- Megalon included.
Get those VCRs fired up!

Oh, I'm definitely going to catch it on the SciFi channel. If I'm lucky I can get it onto a burned DVD so I can slim down my collection and toss the VHS tape in the trash!
This of course would be for my own use! I wonder when they'll show Godzilla vs. Hedorah again....
