KKvsG opening title question - August?

Here's something I've been thinking about for a while.

With the exception of Godzilla vs Gigan, all the showa Godzilla films have opening credit music that plays a full piece and is allowed to gracefully fade out. However, during the opening of King Kong vs Godzilla, the opening music (the Farou Island chant) abruptly fades out mid-way through the second verse. However, on both the soundtrack CD and on the edited festival version of the film (which shoehorns monster footage into the credits sequence) the music is allowed to play through two full verses before it fades out.

It seems weird that the original Japanese version of King Kong vs Godzilla would not include the full opening music track, which is pretty much a standard on all showa Godzilla movies.

I'm hoping August might be able to shed some light on this.

What I don't get is why Toho didn't put the Champion Festivals versions of all the Showa films on DVD like they did with Mothra vs Godzilla.
