Hey, I was wondering, which G-films only exsist in your memory now. I.E
You havent seen them in forever. For me, it'd have to be Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster, Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. Megalon. Been so long but when i see them i want them to be good version. Thank you sony!!! Yah, this a pointless thread but hey just felt like sharing.

Hey any thread that's worth answering isn't pointless!! :D

Yeah, Even though I own it, I've not watched Godzilla Vs. the Sea Monster for a long time either. It's not one of my particular favourites, but since the version I own was renamed Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, it just doesn't shout "WATCH ME!" very often.

That brings me to another question the I've often wondered....

How come the G films don't have any one title for all audiences? Yeah, okay Japanese titles need translating, but why can't it be just done once?

G vs. Monster Zero for example. In the U.K. Its called Invasion Of The Astro Monsters. I get confused with the diffent titles sometimes. I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way. :-\

I just wanted to make sure... you guys do know Toho's international title of "Monster Zero" is "Invasion of Astro Monster"... No, I'm not kidding. I won't abide Engrish, so I call it by the same title you guys have been in this thread (apparently the British wised up too because they retitled it "Invasion of the Astro Monster" for release there).

The US title of SAN DAIKAJU: CHIKYU SAIDAI-NO KESSEN ("Three Giant Monsters: The Greatest Battle on Earth" [I just love that title, when I first read about it in The Monster Times, back in the 1970s]) is GHIDRAH: THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER; Toho's International title is MONSTER OF MONSTERS: GHIDORAH. As for KAIJU DAISENSO (aka "Monster Zero"), the title translates as THE GREAT MONSTER WAR (or "Great Monster Warfare") -- but, not "Giant Monster War," as "Dai" (big, giant, great) is not conjoined with the Kanji for "Kaiju," but is conjoined with "Senso" (war).

BTW, UPA gave KAIJU DAISENSO the title INVASION OF THE ASTRO-MONSTERS, but for Toho's advertising materials, it seems that between UPA and Toho, someone screwed up the English and accidentally dropped the plural (why is there a plural, anyhow?)...

Personally, I prefer GODZILLA-EBIRAH-MOTHRA: GREAT DUEL IN THE SOUTH SEAS to "Big Duel in the South Seas"... But, to each his own. I used to not care for EBIRAH: HORROR OF THE DEEP, but its grown on me.

As long as the title isn't completely daft, then what's in a name? Just give me an excellent print in its original aspect ratio... :)

The only Godzilla film I can think of that exists in my memory is Son of Godzilla. I remember seeing the final moments of the movie on television, in Texas. I guess that's about, unless you count watching it through a crappy RealPlayer file, dubbed.

I haven't seen 'Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster' in what seems like 20 years now. I've since seen the Japanese and international versions, but not AIP's cut. It seems odd to think that at one time, the US versions used to play on tv over here. But that was a long, long time ago...
