I'm sorry, I've never payed much attention to the different dub versions. Is the AIP dub the one on the ADV tape? In that case, yes...I agree entirely. But I'll still vote for waffles...they do kick ass, especially when they are chocolate chip... :d

That international dub is awful. Cy, the AIP dub is what we originally had over here. It's pretty much "lost" now. Though, some fans have got copies of it so it's not a "Half Human" kind of lost.

Listening to some of those lines last night, I cannot believe that Toho wanted those as anything other than a guide. The worst by far is when Jun Tazaki's character says "It's Rodan!" like 5 seconds after his mouth moves and the scene has cut to another shot. Ick!

^^ That's my favourite line in the film! Thanks to that wonderful R4 dvd, I finally got the chance to hear the AIP dub. And yep, it is indeed better than the international version. However, I grew up with that 'un, so it's still my favourite version of the film.
And I'm surprized that every fan of this fine film hasn't got a copy of the R4 dvd yet. I would've thought you'd all have it by now.

What the heck was it with Mothra being in "Beping"? I know all about how Bejing went from being "Peking" to "Bejing" in the west when we adopted pinyin instead of the old and inaccurate Wales-Guile system of rendering chinese into english..... but what the heck is "Beping"?

I prefer the AIP dub over the international dub. I grew up with those AIP dubs, so that's probably why I like them. The international dub just sounds too fake to me. Maybe because it's so crisp and clear that it just don't sound right.
