Do you need to see them on DVD to enjoy their full splender? I've got them both on VHS tapes from Toho Video. They look and sound pretty good.

Well, I was specifically talking about the US versions mainly. Are your "Toho Video" versions subbed in plastic cases? Then they're probably ripped from laserdisc. Still, the picture is worlds better then any American verison. Only a R2 Japanese version would be even better than that.

No, space invaders using cumbersome monsters to conquer earth doesn't make sense.

I think you're getting the wrong impression. I'm not saying these movies are "the sux" or anything, I'm just telling the truth; that being that those types of movies don't appeal to me because there is no sense of magic or wonder in them for me, because I can't place myself in that target mindset. I understand these movies are made for a different type of crowd; I'm just not in it. Again, if you like them, great--but just like you like them over the Millenium series, the opposite is true for me, because those movies are made for people like me.

:peace:

Maybe the aliens like to have fun? Ever thought of that? :D Seriously how many times did Megatron make an actual plan to destroy the Autobots once and for all and be serious about it, before, TF: The Movie? Not many really.

Hmm...I wouldn't mind it if the aliens flat-out said, "We're just here to mess around with you," and proceeded to unleash monster after monster upon various contries as a bizzare and disturbing gladatorial challenge as humanities' militaries fall to kaiju...yes, I like that...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
