It looks like after 1976, an alien called Titan would arrive and try to take over the world to set free machines from human control aided with the kaiju Gigan and Kameragon ( a robot made of a space metal that was invisible to humans but not to Godzilla). Sounds interesting though, but also an invisible kaiju? Budget cuts I guess.

Really now? Now that's a crazy idea. Interesting...

I think Toho got their niche. Making old styled Godzilla films from unused concepts.

It'd be interesting to take a few of these and turn it into an animated anthology.

I did some looking into this, and there's unfortunately not much to find, but what I did find out is that "Kameregon" is intended to mean "Chamelegon." How do I know this? Well besides the obvious, there's already a monster named Chamelegon from a Mirror Man episode. Said monster has the epithet of "transparent," implying that it also is an invisible monster. And it makes sense that two monsters with an invisibility gimmick would arrive at the same name being what with chameleons camouflaging and all that. I think it's really cool, though, that unlike those tv monsters, the gimmick with Toho's Chamelegon is that ONLY Godzilla can see him, not that he's actually invisible, it's just that the material he's made of only reflects UV light or something. A plot about humans using Godzilla's behavior to figure out he's seeing something they aren't, and realizing why that is and how to see it themselves, basically writes itself. We can build a super weapon that can see UV just fine, but with Gigan running around as a distraction, and maybe if Chamelegon is immune to Godzilla's ray or something, you get a dynamic similar to the way the end of GvsH played out.

I also found out, thanks to the Japanese wikipedia, that the name was "Gojira Sakusen" which skyne-I mean google is telling me means "suicide strategy." I... I don't think that's the best translation possible, though.

Godzilla's War could be the plot for the sequel to the 2014 movie. It would interesting to see Godzilla fight Gigan and a new monster in the next Legendary Godzilla movie.
