So, anyone like this Godzilla suit as much as I do? It's not a classic the way the '54, '62 and '64 suits are, but it's still my all-time favorite. To me, this is an iconic Godzilla design, and the first one that pops into my head when I think of the Showa series. My top favorite films feature this suit (DAM is my favorite Godzilla film, period) and I've always been fascinated about how they were able to use this costume for four different movies even if it meant the thing was falling apart by 1972. I love the simplified, rounded design of this guy, and it always impressed me how Nakajima was able to give this version of Godzilla so much personality, especially in Godzilla vs Hedora.
I also love collecting toys and figures based on this design. I'm glad late Showa series designs have been become more popular in the last few years, since now I've finally got a nice selection of 1968-72 figures from Bandai and Marmit. One of my most recent purchases was a 2004 Marmit kit of the '72 Godzilla. Can't wait for John Groff (KaijuZoo) to put this guy together. It will look great with my Angilas and Gigan kits.
So yeah, gotta love this suit. Anyone else feel the same?

Here's another scene that cracks me up, cut and pasted from the Godzilla vs Hedora talkback:
There's a great bit of acting from Godzilla towards the end of the movie that made me crack up the first time I noticed it. After Godzilla drags the second Hedora back towards the electrodes and the generators fail once again he looks at the camera and shakes his head, obviously frustrated at the incompetence of the military.
Seriously, the '68 suit seemed to be built for moments like this and of all the Godzilla suits in the entire series I think this is the one that had the most personality. You could relate to this Godzilla, thanks in no small part to Nakajima's performance.

Meh. I'm not a fan of that suit sorry to say since it was in some of the more entertaining and lighter fare of the Showa era. As far as cartoony suits I'm going with Megaro-Goji.
love it

this is my favorite Godzilla suit. it's expressive and powerful, but not bulky.
I wish ALL the 70s movies kept this look, but just as well, as it was in tatters by Gigan.

I enjoyed all the other suits in this decade. The only Showa suit I dislike the most is the Musuko-Goji suit. I don't hate at all, NO!!!! But it is my least favorite out of the entire era.
