TALKBACK #12: Godzilla vs. Gigan

The aliens in this flick kinda topped out the Toho extra terrestrials for me. The Simeons annoy me. Too James Bond Nemesis-esque. I like the cockroach approach.

No post-seventies Godzilla movie has had such a motley crew cast as this one; a cartoonist, his tough-as-nails girlfriend, a hippie, and a pencil-thin moustache villain with cool hair and a good fashion sense (orange and pink, they go together, you know?)

I have never addmited this to anyone and as much as I like Godzilla movies when I saw Godzilla vs. Gigan for my first time with a few of my friends I fell asleep! They had to wake up later a few minutes before the movie ended. So I went back and saw the whole movie again. One thing I learned for sure about Godzilla vs. Gigan and thats its a good idea to get a girlfriend that can fight like Xena!

We showed this on Saturday for my 21st birthday shindig and all the Godzilla-newbies got as much of a kick out of it as G.H.I.D.R.A.H. did. Well, maybe not as much as we did but they still enjoyed it too.
