I thought watching Godzilla Vs. Gigan in Japanese for the first time would be a childhood-shattering experience for me, since it's one of the few movies where I have an extreme fondness for the dub but... man that was funny! XD
Gengo's voice fits his personality a lot more, but it was so weird not hearing that deep manly voice coming from him.
But the best part by far is the introduction of Kubota, the alien director, and his random English words. "Kono IDEA... BEWWY GUUDO desu ne?"
...
"<It seems pretty peaceful already...>"
"NO DESU!"
Or really, just the way he says "desu" in general.
Oh Godzilla Vs. Gigan, I love you so...
Seeing it in widescreen for the first time was crazy-awesome as well. It really DOES feel like a manga come to life.
EDIT: Has anyone ever noticed that at the end of the banana-eating bit, right when they decide to go out researching, Gengo just randomly tosses his banana into the air as they're getting up?
