In Mothra vs. Godzilla, Godzilla attacks Mothra's egg. I always thought he was hungry and was wanting to eat the egg. Now, my thoughts have changed somewhat. On the commentary for the movie, one of the guy's says that he believes Godzilla attacks the egg because he sense a threat.
So what is your opinion on the matter?

Probably just because he felt like doing it.

I absolutely love the way Godzilla is depicted in Mothra vs. Godzilla. I agree with Steve (or was it Ed?) on the commentary that Godzilla merely senses other monsters as a threat. He is a complete badass to be sure, but he isn't depicted as evil in the film. His tail gets caught in the tower and he brings it down, he stumbles onto the Nagoya castle, ect.
