A slight correction: Yasuyuki Inoue designed Hedorah, but it was director Yoshimitsu Banno who made the "eyes look like vaginas" statement. Banno said that in an interview published in the book Tokyoscope.

You guys ever see this Frank Zappa album cover? Frank always said he loved monster movies and the song Cheepnis (not on Sleep Dirt) is a "kaiju tribute" of sorts.
