Again. When DAM was made it was supposed to be the 9th and final Showa film. If TOHO had intended the series to continue into the 70's it would be doubtful they would have set it in 1999. After DAM was made, and we began the next six films, clearly they picked up after the fact, featuring an Island that contains the same monsters that was established in DAM, only they referred to it as "Island" rather than "land". Clearly when Revenge-Terror was filmed it was filmed following the events in DAM. When Megalon, Gigan etc were made, were the script writers and directers thinking this is going to take place BEFORE Dam?
And were those maps issued by TOHO back in the 60's or 70's or did they come up with this recently as to the location of Monsterland and Monster island? Back in the 60's the mention Kong beat Godzilla (there is a thread about that here somewhere) , but now they are saying it was a draw decades later. Furthermore was the maps even issued by TOHO or was it written by a fans? Who wrote the Encyclopedia of Godzilla 2? I mean how can Monster Island be near Australia?
Furthermore as I said before James, maybe when they shot the movies in the 70's they had intended them to follow DAM, but didn't really give to to much thought into 1999, or 1973 etc. They probably didn't think anyone would care. Was TOHO really that concerned about continiuty in the Showa series? Did they think we would be arguing about it decades later? This is like the whole Baragon/Gorosaurus problem in DAM.
If you think my beliefs that Revenge-Terror being set after DAM is wrong with your "holier than thou attitides" have fun taking Skip Peel to school because he believes the Showa and Hesei series are connected!!!!!
