Okay, now I'm about 75% sure I'll be there. My dad is giving me the whole "I'm not making any promises" run-around, so we'll just have to see...

Well, I just got home. Brizilla and his wife, and Gfanikf and his girlfriend were there. You guys were all really cool. Wish I'd gotten there sooner so I could have talked to you all more.

Anyway, Gojira was exceptionally spectacular, just as I thought it would be. It focused much more on human drama than its americanized counterpart.

My only complaints?

1. The annoying little kid sitting behind me constantly kicking my chair and laughing at the most innapropriate moments. Who brings a kid to a serious natured, subtitled film, anyhow?!?! Did any of you other guys notice this? ... god, im so bitter...

2. I drank a large coke during the first half of the film...i had to miss out on two minutes of the Ogata - Serizawa confrontation near the end so I could end my...discomfort. lol. I bet you guys were wondering why I'd gotten up at such a critical point in the film. Well, there is your answer. lol

i just got back a bit ago too..i didn't get to talk to anyone, though, which was a shame. And yes, there was some inappropriate laughter...and the people in front of me were just bizarre.....otherwise, it was great to see the original version of Godzilla, especially on the big screen..

It was a great time I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to talk to you guys. I plan on posting a detailed article with pictures later. DBZelda7, I did notice that loud kid sucks you had to sit near them, and you second point does answer some questions.

^^

lol. My legs were shaking like crazy while Serizawa and Ogata fought. And it wasn't because of the tension onscreen. lol.

also, one thing i noticed that was vastly different from the american version was the badass portrayal of Serizawa. The sunglasses, the motorcycle, the overall presence of the great doctor was just so much more extreme in the original version. Anyone else notice this?
