Monsterverse theories

So in the 1950s and 60s, the pacific nuclear tests were trying to kill Godzilla. Meanwhile a survey mission in 1973 was actually a mission to find King Kong and other monsters I'm feeling there will be a tie-in/conspiracy that involves the Vietnam War. I'm having a feeling all the monsters in this series are going to be tied to famous historical events and have been hidden to giant government conspiracies.

I'm calling it now, the moon landing in 1969 discovered a dormant King Ghidorah and the subsequent landings were to study how much of a threat he'd be if he woke up. Now the the question is, what other major historical events could be used to cover up the discovery of Rodan and Mothra? Maybe the UFO sightings of the 1950s as well as cow mutilations were from a young Rodan?

Basically I feel like Monarch already knows about most of these monsters. Having MOthra, Rodan and KG show up all at once in one film is a little bit of a stretch and I feel like it would shrink the mythology of these beasts in Godzilla 2. I'm feel multiple multi-decade conspiracies.

The Tunguska event is an appropriate way to introduce King Ghidorah! Maybe there's a Monarch outpost out there in Siberia monitoring his dormant form buried underground. The Tunguska even is used in everything: referenced by Doctor Who and the Ghostbusters, caused by Ultraman Orb defeating Zetton, caused by the arrival of the stone monolith in Hellboy '04, etc. etc.

I like the idea of tying in Rodan (and his supersonic flight) with UFO sightings, and maybe the development of aircraft technology was spurred on by trying to catch him? Maybe an atmospheric nuclear test was used to knock him out just like they did with Godzilla?

My idea for Mothra is that she's a myth like the phoenix (always dying and being reborn) in the world of the MonsterVerse.

Tunguska makes sense, I however like the visual of an astronaut hopping around the uninhabitable moon and finding a cave where a dormant alien King Ghidorah has been sleeping for thousands (millions?) of years, and then hightailing it back to the lunar module on the little lunar buggy. Also "Houston... we have a REAL BIG problem up here!"

Well, with the recent discovery of the mostly submerged continent named Zealandia, perhaps the writers of "Godzilla 2", will figure out a way to make that the long lost Monster Island, or rather Monster Continent!

Zealandia is obviously where the Seatopian civilization is.

^Such a great character. Too bad they didn't just splice the character into the Godzilla series.

It seems in the US there will always be a small sliver of folks who just can't get into the fun of giant monster movies, and speak incredulously of something like Godzilla fighting King Kong.

... and then there is, it seems, a larger group of folks who think the MonsterVerse should totally crossover with Pacific Rim it could totally work guys here's a detailed explanation:

It could be done. Pacific Rim already has interdimensional travel (by kaiju!) as its foundation. A new breach opens up which allows for travel between the Pacific Rim universe and the Godzilla/Kong Monsterverse. Boom, crossover.

I'd rather not see that happen, though. Let Pacific Rim be its own series. I like the idea of revamping classic monsters for the big shared universe while allowing the original property full of original characters to grow on its own.

And now we have people extrapolating a briefly glimpsed turtle in the opening montage as proof for Gamera's future inclusion in the MonsterVerse.

http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/34280 ... era-movie/

And now I go off on a tangent: I'd rather Gamera join up with the PacRim universe/. The Atlantians created him way back when to defend Earth against the Precursors (that's their name, right?) and Gamera wakes up and teams up with the Pan Pacific Defense Corps., but not before they attack him think he's just another kaiju.

I think another popular assumption people seem to be making is that only Mothra and Rodan will appear in King of the Monsters while Godzilla and Kong will team up to fight Ghidorah in the big crossover.
