Honestly I say if people really want a remake of King Kong vs Godzilla or at the very least another opportunity to see King Kong fight Godzilla, I think a videogame or perhaps a 10-15 minute short film would suffice. I honestly don't think that this ludicrous match-up between these monsters should ever occur again. Putting 100 million or more towards another King Kong vs. Godzilla film is just terrible. I never liked the original anyways and the premise of a giant ape fighting Godzilla is silly. How do you even rationalize upscaling the giant ape from being 3 stories tall to being more than 40 stories tall? Silly...

Like many others have said there are many other monster match-ups we should be exploring. Even a Pacific Rim-Godzilla mash-up would be far more rewarding than seeing another King Kong vs. Godzilla.

I don't see how a giant ape is any more or less ridiculous than anything in Godzilla...

If its destined to happen, they'll make the monkey science work. Or they'll just say "eff it" and just do what they want.
It would be a huge money draw, I have to believe that.

Really, I would love for the Godzilla trilogy and Skull Island to be seperate things, with KKvsG being a "bonus" thing. However, if they fit in the same world, then awesome.

In my opinion, Skull Island doesn't seem to be a prequel to any of the existing movies (Kong '33, '05 etc.), but likely just a prequel to the Kong legend. So if that's the case, this could be the beginning of a new world for Kong, meaning the events leading to New York can be re-imagined in anyway Legendary sees fit.

So, when this movie comes out and we see Kong a lot bigger than usual, then in my opinion we are definitely getting a Kong Vs Godzilla, or a crossover movie with Kong, Godzilla and other monsters.

I cannot fathom that Legendary isn't exploring the possibility of a crossover between these two iconic characters. Whatever legal hurtle they need to jump over with the studios, I think Legendary will make it happen if they believe this will be a huge hit. And I think it will.

In Hollywood, I don't believe the word "never" exists. Anything is possible. Years ago I remember people saying we we would never get an Avengers movie. Well we got one, with a sequel on the way and a Justice League movie on the horizon! And let's not forget a Batman Vs Superman movie.

I remember on this very board people would say we will never get another American Godzilla movie. We got one, with at least two sequels on the way. So will we get a movie with both King Kong and Godzilla? I say most definitely YES!

Crossovers would be cool, but honestly, I can live without them. King Kong vs. Godzilla would be a good fun 5 minutes. Kong climbs a building, and Godzilla knocks it over as he makes his way across town, the end.
