Could we get spinoffs?

Godzilla had a pretty huge initial draw bringing in 90 million its first weekend. People are at least interested in the name. Since this new Godzilla is bringing in the Godzilla staples of Ghidrah, Mothra and Rodan do you think there is a chance any of them could headline their own film? All three have headlined their own films (granted Ghidrah wasn't a solo film) Mothra is probably the most well known and I know for a while Rodan was considered fairly popular in the U.S. I know its fanboy wishing, but if this film were more successful than Godzilla, I could see maybe some lower budget Marvel style spinoffs to cash in on the giant monster craze. Also it'd be an easy way to introduce new monster creations. With Pacific RIm 2 and Godzilla 2 green lit as well as Skull Island, it just feels like Legendary is trying to corner the monster making film industry.

It would be cool, but Godzilla and Kong are really the only ones that can hold their own. Others have to be within their movies.

I don't see spinoffs happening, mainly because I don't see the audience for it.

I think the main thing that prevents spinoffs for these films is how the audience reacts to Godzilla and whether or not they kill off the Toho Monsters. It bugs me that in todays movies, the film isn't over till the monster dies. I don't want either Ghidrah or Rodan to die. Mothra can die because her dying and being reborn as an egg seems to be a character trait of hers. Other monsters though don't have that option.

Legendary should acquire the rights to Gamera and start producing a US version.

No monsters will come forth except through Godzilla.

With the schedule currently full of giant monster films from other franchises I don't really feel the need for spinoffs. We've got plenty of stuff on the way.

I love giant monster movies, but I'm not sure I want a spinoff. I don't see there being a major demographic to make enough money. Godzilla has name recognition. The other Toho monsters?? Sure people know of them, but I'm not sure they'd do well on their own.
