The stuff about G-Fan and J.D. Lees is kind of disappointing. I let my subscription expire back in '08 because it was lacking interesting content. It'd be nice to support a Canadian kaiju magazine again, but I don't think it'll be that one.
So... I read the G2014 novelization a week ago. God, is it irritating. The differences between it and the movie are interesting at times, and Cox can write decently, but I swear half of the book comprises Ford obsessing over Elle and Sam. The repetitive "introspection" (such as it is) is hard to take. And unfortunately, when you don't have awesome visuals, actors, or music to help out, the plot's flaws become more aggravating. I wouldn't call it recommended reading. Just watch the movie again, and maybe revisit one of Cerasini's novels.
