What do you think fans will eventually standardize for the way to communicate about this movie? E.g. what are going to be the primary acronyms/terms.

Final Design Name

I can see being standardized as 'Legend-Goji' as some people have already been calling it.

Title Acronym

This one is a little interesting. I remember when Tokyo SOS came out people referred to it as GMMG but that seems to have fallen out of preference after the International Title. I've been referring to this movie as Godzilla 2014 but that's become cumbersome. Without a subtitle or an extended title like most Japanese releases, I think this film is going shake out as G'14 or G14.

Franchise Title

I don't know if people have really been thinking about this, considering the movie isn't out yet. Assuming this movie gets a sequel, what do you think the fans will choose for the title? I'm leaning on "Legendary Series." That would give us Showa, Heisei, Millennium & Legendary.




Do you agree or disagree? Any other major nomenclature I'm missing?

Legend-Goji or Legengoji or some variation thereof will be my reference to the design.

Godzilla 2014, G14, Legendary's Godzilla, whatever.

"Legend-Goji" just irks me with the pointless dropping of the "ary" at the end. It's not like it takes much extra effort to add those last three letters, and since "Legendary" is the company name and this is going to be "Legendary's Godzilla", it's always just seemed silly me to cut it short like that for no particular reason (ok yes I know the reason is to have it be more in-keeping with the style of certain of the existing Godzilla nicknames, but still, it's not like there aren't lengthy ones already). It always gets my OCD hackles up, but that's probably just me.

For the movie, "The New American Godzilla", "Legendary Godzilla", "Godzilla", "G'14", "G14", "That New One", "The One That's Better Than That Last One They Did" etc. But probably "G'14" or something along those lines.

Series? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm calling the movie 'Legendary Godzilla.'
