I didn't think this really needed to be added to the Godzilla thread, since it only peripherally mentions Godzilla, but this little article sheds some light on who Binoche is and where she came from:

I had no idea she turned down a role in Jurassic Park...

The fact that she's doing this movie really makes me think it must be something special.

... special effects? editing? sound effects?

I can see it winning those kinds of Oscars.

I bet Juliette Binoche will be playing Bryan Cranston's wife and Elizabeth Olsen's mom.

I remember going over the announced cast and recognizing her from Dan in Real life. That was like last year sometime. I was with Jared, and we looked up her filmography and saw she had no sci-fi films at all under her belt. I think there may have even been a comment that she doesn't really prefer to do such films.

So me and Jared deduced that she must have read the script and was so impressed that she signed on. It also bodes well for Edwards describing how he doesn't view this as a sci-fi film at all.

There's no wonder, really, why I have almost nothing but good vibes for this movie.

Cranston is an actor who will (or should at the very least) be getting awards, the letter he got from Anthony Hopkins is an award of its own. While I doubt this would be the script that does get him one, it would be cool if it was.

But yeah, realistically this would be getting techincal award nominations if any.

This awards talk is bull.

Seriously, how many genre films get awards, or even get nominated for anything aside from technical stuff, which they aren't even guaranteed to win?
