Ok ok, hear me out. I know fans pretty much gave their thumbs down to GINO because the design is too different, but at the same time, I don't want a cookie cutter Godzilla design just to distant yourself from GINO.

GINO was barely recognizable. I want something different but still recognizable.

Take these designs for example.

it's just that when you see them, you would know it's Godzilla without someone pointing it out.

I hope Legendary will still take some chances with the design here and there. One of things I liked about the Millennium movies is that they alter the look very radically almost movie to movie. Again, not saying I like all of them, but it was still exciting to see something different. At least for me it is.

Those are only SLIGHTLY better than GINO (as in, they blow).

I want Godzilla to look like Godzilla. F**k realism.

I'd prefer they just reuse an old Baragon suit.

People did not go into Batman Begins expecting Batman to look like this:


I would expect Legendary to treat Godzilla with the same respect.

According to the effects for the trailer were done by ILM.

While I'm fairly liberal about most things Godzilla-related, I'd rather have a design that's too conservative than one that's too liberal. The problem I have with a lot of fanmade redesigns is that they try to make the monster look edgy or modern, at the expense of making him look like Godzilla. I also get the impression that some of these artists listen to Slipknot and get mad at their parents a lot. I don't want to be reminded of ridiculous teenage angst when I watch a kaiju movie. I want to see Godzilla when I see Godzilla, if you catch my drift.

(Personally, if they want to recycle/rework the '54 or 2000 designs, I'm completely on board. Those are my favorites.)
