This is ridiculous. There is no need to use spoiler tags on films that have already been released. This movie is new, has not been released, and in all FAIRNESS since it is an issue, spoilers for things released long ago don't count as spoilers.

EDIT: It's the equivalent of not knowing Luke Skywalker is Darth Vader's son.

Do you realize how ridiculous it is to type

Yeah, this thread is dead to me. I keep telling myself to stay away but I want more pics of G. It's a shame people don't understand spoiler tags...and there's a thread specifically dedicated to discussing leaked plot points to boot. See you May 15th.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it already addressed that, being a brand new movie that nobody has seen or will seen for another month, spoiler tags are necessary? Comparing it to tagging the older movies is ridiculous and is a comparison that was already brought up in jest and put back down.

Anywho, in other news I finally went by a Barnes and Nobles and flipped through the Empire issue, but decided on not buying it because I don't feel like spending $10 on a *@#%'n magazine.

Use spoiler tags for this film at LEAST until its release.
Use spoiler tags for ALL new films at least until their releases.
Use spoiler tags for already released films at your discretion.

End of discussion.

Could you go into detail about what is considered a spoiler? Shonokin's description a few pages back is,"What you may deem not important may not be what someone else deems unimportant" which is about as relative as it gets.

What type of information are we allowed to post in here? :)

General rule of thumb for spoilers:
If it hasn't been posted to the movie's official web page (http://www.godzillamovie.com/) then it's a spoiler.

Obviously, there's some leeway there, especially with regards to anything that could be considered speculation. If you're speculating, it's clearly not a spoiler.

If you're second-guessing whether something is a spoiler or not, then it is. If it reveals part of the film's plot, then it's a spoiler.

A half-second of thought is all it takes to not ruin the experience for others. Some people would like to discuss the film, speculation, pieces of concept art, trailers, official still, etc without having to worry about character fates being revealed.

If you're unsure, put spoiler tags on it; and if you're really unsure, there's a whole separate thread for spoilers, feel free to post there for the duration of the lead-up to release, I don't care.
Use a little common sense and a little common courtesy.
Gills.

The sea rose as a wall of sharp spines sliced thru the surface. The water boiled and churned as fish of all species floated on their sides, dead. Godzilla, the demon god had emerged.

So, I wonder if that's it for new footage we'll be seeing in trailers and stuff...because that wasn't really anything new.

No doubt they'll show new stuff at WonderCon. The real question is if they'll show it to the public later on.

^Yeah, for a while there the merch and other leaks led us to think Godzilla would have a really small head and pretty small dorsal plates, but now that we actually see him we can see that neither is the case.

I've seen at least a half dozen Godzilla TV spots over the past couple of weeks. That may not seem like many, but I usually avoid commercial breaks. (In other words, I've managed to see about six or seven TV spots in the few times I've forgotten to change the channel.) The NCAA Men's basketball championship game was sponsored by LP's Godzilla, among other things.

Also, Gareth Edwards was on TCM last night (4/13) at midnight, talking to Ben Mankiewicz about the original Godzilla and his remake. It may or may not show up with other TCM Classic Film Festival clips on their website this week, so keep your eyes peeled for that. If it doesn't show up, I've got it on my DVR and will upload it to YouTube.

I think the number of spots during the basketball tourney were probably the best exposure thus far.

A widely watched program wherein most people watch live and thus don't ffwd through commercials.
