...

You're disappointed because this movie isn't going to be bloated garbage like every other blockbuster the past decade? How many movies over two hours deserve their run-time anyway?

I'm sure Gareth Edwards could have gotten it past the two hour mark if he put in some scenes of the Brody family going to the Apple store while some hilarious techie thinks he recognizes Bryan Cranston. Seriously, that is great news.

Long Runtime Better, more important movie.

That's good. In any case, most of the articles I've seen have Godzilla pegged for anywhere between a 50-80 million opening. Not sure which of those ends I believe more. Hard to shake nagging fears even if they're mostly baseless.

Well, the budget is apparently 150 million, so it needs to make at least 300 million worldwide to start being considered a financial success. I think its total will hit 500 million... So I'm hoping LP wants to make more.

Quick question about the amazon track listing. I dare not look at it myself for fear of spoilers, but I'm curious if there are any sample previews on the amazon site yet. I highly doubt it, but just thought I would double check with those who were brave enough to click.

No samples, probably won't be any at all until it's released in May.

hey folks,I notice on various sites people just can,t except a indestructable G,but no complaints about supes, hulk,or any other character.anybody care to guess a good educated reason? Godzilla is the only summer movie where realism seems to be so important,spidey,X-men,Ect...no problem.

$120 million seems a bit high, yeah. I'd put it at Captain America numbers ($90m) or maybe a bit more.

Early tracking has Spider-Man 2 opening at $95 million.

Although I keep reading that buzz for this film is so-so.

I can't find any tracking for Godzilla, most predictions I've seen place it at $75 million opening / $235 mill domestic gross. Not bad but lower than Gino's adjusted for inflation take.

I've got it on mute, so I didn't notice it as first, but apparently the MTV Movie Awards just had a little Godzilla somethin'-or-other, followed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson presenting an award.

The sea rose as a wall of sharp spines sliced thru the surface. The water boiled and churned as fish of all species floated on their sides, dead. Godzilla, the demon god had emerged.
