TALKBACK: Godzilla (2014) - (OBVIOUS SPOILER DISCUSSION)

Just saw it for the third time tonight and I can honestly say, it gets better with every viewing. It still has flaws, but I seem to notice them less and less. Oh, and the friend I went to see it with loved it! I've went from not really caring if I ever saw it again(after the first time I saw it)to REALLY looking forward to seeing it again...and again, and again...

I saw it for the third time on Friday.

I do declare, any girl (or boy for that matter) who finds it beneath themselves to watch Godzilla with you in the theaters is a big sign to cut that "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" LOOSE!

I went with a bunch of friends who didn't see it this time, and most of them were either casual Godzilla fans who knew of it through video games or saw some of the older movies, or just wanted to see a movie and they loved it!

I am not in control of this movies Box Office. I could see this movie a 100 times and it would barely register at all in the box office. So that said, I am not going to worry and just enjoy having a solid, high budget, American Godzilla film for the first time ever.

Yeah, the final numbers will be good so people just need to chill. Cookson, man, the sky is not falling, don't worry. You have to be careful, jumping off the bandwagon at the wrong time can end up in broken ankles.

It will all work out and based on many things I've been made aware of (remember, I was the one who called the new movie waaayyy back when, for reasons I can't divulge) I can tell you that similar to how the new Batman series went the second act will be incredible......Think Joker...most would have placed him in the 3rd movie......

So it made about $40 million over the four day weekend. I believe that's $10 million less than what was predicted and that prediction was always going to be the best case scenario. It's doing just fine.

So EpixD channel is doing a Godzilla marathon and I'm watching Mothra vs Godzilla and I see the Army competently throwing their best plans at Goji...(wonder what would have happened if those towers didn't overheat)...additionally Mothra besting Godzilla still reeks and is the most unrealistic thing in the entirety of the series.

Anyhow all that just brings to mind how great it would have been to see modern weapon systems take their shots at the monsters....maybe in the sequel but a carpet bombing, AC130, and A10 strafe or so would be great to see specially with how well everything was framed in this film.

Mothra's larvae using hit and run tactics to take down Godzilla works on so many levels.

Either this guy is a troll or one of those elusive Mothra haters.

I love the movie and very happy to see it do well. I know I'll be buying the Blu_Ray when it's out.
