People say the Emmerich movie tried to be realistic because that's what Emmerich himself said...and all it did was expose how unrealistic everything in that movie was and make it so that every scientific inaccuracy was even more infuriating, since they were going for "real"

There's a lot in that movie they were going for but just fell short of it. Like..quality, for instance.

I'm not saying its bad to have preferences, but the people saying Godzilla CAN'T or SHOULDN'T be that way (the way he was originally intended, no less) are pretty grating.
