I wonder how many people are going to focus on that line about doing "what Nolan did for Batman" and then just ignore that immediately after he says he wishes he hadn't said that because this will be nothing like those movies?

Reading the article confirms (which we already knew anyway) that no other Toho kaiju are in this film. Hopefully the "oh it's Rodan!" stuff ends now. The article isn't earth-shattering but it does confirm a few plot points and raise a few questions for those of us who haven't read the leaked script stuff. I have a few ideas where it's headed now. I also appreciate how they are really trying to get this movie right...the characters, that monsters, and the overall faithfulness to the original Godzilla mythos.

I wish it were May already.

Now I really feel like this movie is going to reflect not only a modern take on Godzilla, but be very faithful to the human casts we've seen in the past for kaiju films. We have scientists, military, and their families/friends. Not to mention that Gareth has already proven that he can handle bringing real human drama to a monster movie atmosphere. This movie seems like it's going to be perfect.

Yeah it really does feel like it's ticking all the right boxes, doesn't it? And with all the stuff about the Mutos and the bones of other dead monsters and Godzilla having been around for decades already etc., it looks like they're also doing a good job of setting up a lot of stuff for sequels that they can carry all this great world and character building into.

Argh, two and a half months is too long to wait!

Great article (really glad it showed up online fast). Lots of drool-worthy tidbits in there to fuel the excitement-fire, I can't help but say this could be the best Godzilla since the original... this movie needs to come out TOMORROW!

"Part shark, part Alien Queen, part Starship Troopers, part gorilla.." My mind can't put that kind of awesome together without sedatives...
