Godzilla (2014) Part Three (NON-SPOILER DISCUSSION)

That line just totally gets me.

And the extended roar is a suspense chord!

This is what I totally wanted in a trailer. Not a 2/3 minute retelling but we get enough of the plot and action with out really spoiling anything. And gives us glimpses of non-Godzilla monsters.

Also the mini roar when Godzilla pops up in the Pacific islands! And him swimming under the ships! Oh dear god I think I might call into work and just watch this over and over.

Actually I won't but I really really want to.

I just watched it again in my phone.. its really a teaser until I get home and see it on a bigger screen.. can barely make out most of the scenes. Other monsters? Didn't see them. Only saw some jets being thrown from the sky and then Godzilla at the end. Still epic. Can't wait til I get out of work.

Watched it on my phone a few minutes ago. I knew the long roar was going to be the suspense chord before the title! Beautiful.

Also I'm kind of reminded of the Weekly World News article "We Bombed Japan in WWII to Kill Godzilla!"

The ending scene with Goji reminds me of the Always 2 Godzilla design.

Also I wonder if Godzilla has two different designs in the film. Pre-atomic bomb and post atomic bomb because the spines in the trailer don't look similar to the Empire cover or Poster.

The more I watch this, the more my hopes rise. I feel like we're gonna be getting something like vs. Biollante or GMK, something that can actually stand alongside the best of the Showa era.

Im blown away, yet another fantastic trailer. The glimpses of the MUTOs in particular were well done, enough to get across to the GA that this isn't a solo monster outing. I'm under the impression that this Godzilla is way bigger than the 110 meters that's been the general consensus thus far, the shot of him rising just before the nuke hits, and the wake he makes on surfacing in Hawaii in relation to the boats makes me wonder if the height from the leaked script wasn't kept. Also in the background when the jets are falling, just before the camera pans right you can see the smashed up Golden Gate bridge.

So, I'm curious, do we think the trailer does a good enough job of emphasizing it's not JUST a Godzilla movie?

I'm personally not quite sold that it does. And it's tough to know for sure, because I can't separate what I KNOW from viewing the trailer. I'm just curious if the average complete idiot (and I mean, IDIOT) would know that the very, VERY brief glimpses of MUTO(s) aren't just other glimpses of Godzilla.
