One thing might support the figure from Bandai is the curled tail. God I hope Bandai's Godzilla's have tail articulation.

Not sure if that's legit. The head seems off compared to what we've seen thus far.

Proportions are quite a bit off from what we've seen so far; head looks wrong, spines are awkward and the body mass is much skinnier. But it's obviously a very slick, stylized cover. I don't think it's actually a still from the film or anything. Sort of looks like a cross between the original Goji suit & a Willis O'Brien sculpt. :D

Looks like the hyp machine is cranking up...

yeah update: Here's a link to Empire's site, where Gareth talks a bit about the design and a confirmation that some mo-cap was used:
http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=40256

I stand corrected on mo-cap stuff I guess. I thought no way it was happening.

That has to be one of the greatest things I've ever seen. The marketing really does seem to be picking up.

Wow..that is superb. Love the style they used. It seems to me like the head has undergone some revisions. Maybe it's just that we're seeing it with some "life' infused into it. It looks feral and vicious, very classic Godzilla vibe.

"Trying to get the face right was the main thing," says Edwards. "I guess he's got more of a bear's face, or a dog's. We also used eagle. There's a lot of nobility in an eagle. It made him feel very majestic and noble."

Loving the sounds of that! Am I reading wrong or is the article implying Serkis did some of the mo-cap performance himself?
