If they wanted to bring back Varan I would be okay with that. He fits well with Anguirus and Rodan.

Hmmm... The idea of a kaiju who gets addicted to body modification is pretty interesting, but I don't know if I like the idea for Gigan.

If Gigan himself is constantly upgrading on his own accord to keep himself from being defeated (as well as being a guardian monster) it implies that he's a relatively smart creature. But in every film he's in, Gigan has more or less been a complete moron. It just doesn't really jive with the character, IMO. Maybe that take would be interesting for an alternate universe reboot of Mechani-Kong or a new monster, but Gigan? I'm really not into it. I like the idea of a Gigan origin, but that isn't it.

I wouldn't mind the idea of GIgan starting as a guardian of his homeworld....but then I think I'd want him to get captured/taken over/something to get to where he is

except we know a bunch of people here alone didn't see the Godzilla trailer with The Hobbit.

And also, I'd imagine there's some repeat viewers in that 25 million...sick, sadistic freaks who enjoy having their time wasted and getting the metaphorical bird flipped in their direction for three hours straight.

No more Gigan, no more Megalon, no more Jet Jaguar, no more King Ceasar (Shizar) or Titanosaurus. HEDORAH is the way to go (maybe a Gargantua or two). And please, anyone that brings up Bagan, I'll throw up. That's why I think Legendary is going the right path with creating their own monsters for the most part. However, if Edwards does get a green light for a Destroy All Monsters redo, it mat be a good idea to revisit other Toho icons.

For me, those kinds of monsters would be the most exciting to see again. The ones that have only been in one movie, especially if that movie was mediocre or the monster didn't live up to its full potential. There's so many great or could-be-great "one-movie monsters" like Megalon, Gabara, SpaceGodzilla, Destoroyah, Titanosaurus, Biollante, Hedorah, Varan, Megaguirus, etc. Seeing one of those would feel more special in a way than yet another incarnation of Ghidorah, Mothra or MechaGodzilla. That said, I do love the "top tier" Toho kaiju, and would get very excited seeing new takes on them in any eventual sequels to this film.

I would really like to see a more horrific version of Orga, with the regeneration and ability stealing powers cranked up to 11. I think he was mishandled in G2K, and didn't live up to his full potential.
