I was reading a post on FaceBook about Legend Goji. It basically was saying that the Dorsal Plates were too small. Which, I really never thought of. To me, they are a perfect size. Just right.

I love me some over-sized dorsals (Miregoji is my favorite Millenium design), but I don't see anything wrong with Legengoji's spines. At least in lone shot of him we've seen, nothing stood out as "off" to me. Regardless I think Mire-sized spines would be a bit much for Legengoji. They are purely an aesthetic flourish, and I don't think Legengoji befits a design element added "just for the heck of it." I think every aspect of his design has been considered in terms of real-world practicality so it looks like he's a product of evolution, not a designer's studio.

As far as the second teaser goes, after sitting on it I think it's just as effective as the Oppenheimer one, but in a slightly different way. Every image within it just builds up this feeling of doom. When I see Cranston cover his mouth in shock, I don't see a cliche character reaction, I see a convincing emotion, and I'm wondering what he's horrified by. And so will audiences, if future trailers echo this. Consider too that not everybody will know of or recognize Oppenheimer's words and his voice, and might just be confused by his sound bit. The second teaser is more accessible. And it's gripping.

Unless you just aren't moved by human emotion. :\

I mean I get it, different strokes for different folks. I think what gets me is when people discount great human drama In an action or sci fi flick. So many of the, and I hate the term "tent pole" films are nothing more than "mindless summertime fun" which I am fine with and actually think that should be a genre in itself. Then you take a movie like Jaws or Alien and see what ca be done with suspense, Spfx, great writing and acting and that action or sci fi movie takes on a whole new dimension. Now you care what happens to a character in the midst of this chaotic, massive event and want to see how the awesome monster battle effects the people on the ground.

Or watch godzilla smash stuff and people say "we're gonna need bigger guns"

Thank God, for the new block feature... I've never known someone to have such an aversion to quality and talent, but mechaghidrah is a whole different level of headache that I refuse to take Aspirin for anymore.

Bottom line is I think we all want this to win. As a fandom we take our hits because of rubber suits, dubbing and GINO so a bit of vindication would be nice.

Even if that doesn't happen if we get an awesome movie that only speaks to us fans, I view that as a win too. We have been lucky to have such a diverse catalogue to pick from no other fandom other than say Bond.

We are lucky and we should know it.

Both of you, knock it off right now! This is the last I wan to hear of a potentially well balanced movie that not only brings us great Godzilla monster battles but a compelling and perhaps suspenseful human story intertwined with it. Listen to the people, they are telling you that it just is either not possible or not wanted. Hell, I decided now that I just want the whole movie shot through Godzilla's eyes.
