Is it at all possible that the multi-legged monster might be some sort of chimera, where you have an armadillo-like leathery armour shell with reptile and insect features mixed in there too?

That is definitely non-insect looking after repeat viewings but easy to see why it would look like one. Those are claws my friends.

I'm getting used to the new roar. It's a little out there, but it does sound mostly like Godzilla. I'm still hoping to hear the traditional roar in the movie itself. The teaser is pretty good overall. I had envisioned something even bleaker and more monochrome, so it didn't quite hook me at first, but I've rewatched it a few times. It's all grown on me pretty quickly.

I have to admit I'm a bit taken aback (in a good way) by the orange/red of the dead creature. some color pop. i like.

but scientific arrogance =/= genetic engineering. not necessarily, at least.

hell, scientific arrogance is what awakened Godzilla in the first film, no genetic engineering involved.

So question for the general mass:

I'm noticing the main colors throughout this trailer is full of yellows and browns, I'm curious what all feel on this direction for the movie. It reminds me of Chris Nolans films on how he uses alot of blues and greys to convey the mood of the shot and i get a similar feel when I watched this teaser a few times. Coincidence or something more? Is this what we can expect the general look to be throughout most of the film? I understand its just a teaser and and the time of day is likley dawn/sunset but I tend to think about these things.

Thoughts?

Awesome is a word so overused that it's lost its impact, but this brief teaser truly inspires awe in its original sense, an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, and fear. Even the music has the ethereal feel of the score for Stanley Kubrick's 2001, giving a sense of forces beyond mortal understanding. I've watched this half a dozen times now, and each time it ends I find myself staring at the black screen in stunned silence for several moments. It harkens back to the original 1954 movie, but it feels so fresh, new, and confident. I now have no doubt that we're not looking at another half-baked animal-on-the-loose movie like in 1998; this is truly man vs nature.

The walking natural disaster is back.

Can you imagine being suck next to Godzilla on that street with all that sh^t falling off of him? A piece of bridge was rolling off his back. There would be no hope getting stuck in that mess.

I wonder if this will be the first time Godzilla is actually scary. Not due to his personality or look, but his shear size is just horrific as he pushes over buildings like they are nothing. Assuming they get the scale right in this movie.
