The Hesei series had its share of problems, but IMHO the take on Godzilla was not one of them. Its still my all-time favorite design (bio-goji & mosu-goji tie, with the original '64 mosu-goji coming in a close second); his overall screen presence and the suit acting were all top-notch. (Just maybe lose a little around those thighs, LOL.) The biggest beef with Godzilla himself was the fall back to beam exchanges. The gorgeous suit design cried out for tooth & nail combat, but instead we got beautiful-looking, but boring back & forth blasts from the monsters. Meh.

If they insist on using foes from the Toho rogue's gallery, I hope it's not the same 3. Let's see Angilas and/or Varan. It would be cool & interesting to see either of them actually rendered in correct quadruped stance. Varan is such a cool-looking design. A true shame he never got the respect he deserves. I'm honestly sick to death of always seeing Mothra, MechaG and Ghidorah. If they must, then make it Ghidorah, but save him for the 3rd entry, IF the films make it all the way thru to a full trilogy.

I know that this was mentioned by other member(s) elsewhere, but given the nature of that huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico last year, it seems almost a no-brainer that a clever screenwriter wouldn't fictionalize those events enough to extrapolate the byproducts of such an eco-disaster into the perfect means of creating a modern day Hedorah. I'd also really love to see what they could do with an all-CGI smog monster. His powers could really come across as fricken awesome. He's not my favorite baddie, but he does have cool powers and was a pretty formidable opponent for the Big G.

With regards to other monsters being optioned from the Toho stable... in the past Toho put such an exorbitant price tag on each of their monsters individually that it put them out of reach for most firms because just gettting Godzilla broke their bank. This over-pricing especially applied to King Ghidorah; given his status as Godzilla's arch-foe, Toho's reasons were obvious. However, since this newly arriving comic series apparently got the whole Toho daikaiju shebang for one lump fee then maybe Toho is either lightening up on their blood-from-a-turnip philosophy or they're seeing that being too greedy may be cutting their own throats in the long run when it comes to dealing with foreign markets.
