GODZILLA: King of the Monsters (5-31-19 -NO SPOILERS PLEASE)

They're not going to sell a goji film without his name in it nowadays unless its destroy all monsters at Edwards behest. I like Godzilla: king of the monsters, monster of monsters, war of the monsters etc. Godzilla vs destroyah had ads in Japan calling it Gojira 7 and showing clips from every other Hesei film though technically since the original factored in that timeline the teasers should have said Gojira 8. We haven't had a Godzilla vs Rodan or Godzilla vs Angilas. So if its a new title I'm all for it. But there have been Godzilla vs Mothra and Godzilla vs King Ghidorah even Godzilla vs Hedorah so if its a rehash title I think something new is in order, just not anything as horrible as "battle for earth".

Maybe Godzilla: Rise of the Monsters...

I'd like the sequel's title to be "Godzilla: (Subtitle)" and for that subtitle to be something creative, pertinent to the story, and not containing any variation of the words rise, revenge, or dark.

Me, I'd prefer a "vs" title as that's tradition. However, I'd be down if they went "The Dark Knight"/"Man of Steel" route and called one "King of the Monsters".

Maybe the plot should involve mankind (Monarch) trying to experiment with something to stop Godzilla, because you know that even though he killed the MUTOs the world will view him as a threat. Maybe control Mothra to seize control of several other kaiju?

I am curious what relation, if any, Monarch (as in butterfly) has to do with Mothra.

Another question - Are we done with the Ford family? I hope so. They weren't all that interesting in the first place, and I'm not chomping at the bit to see what happens next. I'd much rather see how Godzilla, et. al. affects another cast of characters, with Serizawa and Sally Hawkins' characters being the only re-occuring characters.

There's a article from China where Edwards says that if the film is received well un China, they will begin production immediately. Sorry, u can't find the article right now.

Godzilla is doing pretty good so far.. But I don't think it'll quite match PRs China gross.

Just got back from seeing the movie again. Love that scene at the end with Godzilla peaceably returning to the Pacific Ocean.

- but I have a sneaky suspicion that some new threat will drawn him from his watery home in... roughly 3 to 4 years.

actually all of mine are very horrible. The best non vs or previously used title I could come up with is Godzilla: Convergent Boundary (what its called where two tectonic plates collide)..but that would only work if its featured somewhere in the script like It causes new kaiju to show, and then it sounds too Pacific Rimish.
So I'm back to KotM.

I also like DannyBeane's idea that we awaken the other kaiju by looking for them. Seems logical as to why theyd show up all of a sudden.
