Man what an epic troll that would be. I'd actually have to congratulate them if it ends up that way.

I can't tell you if there is a long fight scene....what I can say is that:

A) There is more to the airport scene than those two pages. The military is engaged with the MUTO (This is actually the first monster footage we got in the new footage trailer shown at Comic Con.) The military is throwing a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" ton of firepower at the MUTO with no effect. Actually while they are engaged with it the Muto is more into destroying the planes on the tarmac.

Now, the scene where they describe Godzilla rising from the billowing smoke, towering over the Muto, that's 100% true, though 500 (or did it say 600 feet) I forgot, I have to say no because while the Muto was taller than the tail sections of the jumbo jets, that places him at maybe 150 feet tall (in insectoid/crab like walking posture mind you) Godzilla would be at least 300-350 feet tall but no more than that.

The scene at Comic Con cuts before we get a full Godzilla visual but it seems to play out like this:

Muto is attacking, military is deployed
Military engages Muto near the airport, doesn't do much but irritate the Muto
Muto attacks the airport, again, military is helpless
During the battle, Godzilla exits the ocean, in the darkness and smoke, he enters the fray almost without notice
He's so unexpected, that he clips a helicopter as it's firing on the Muto.
The scene we see from inside the terminal is the same, except at the end of the explosion trail is where Godzilla steps down (don't remember if that whole glass window shatters or not.
Military still going after Muto when Godzilla rises from the smoke.

THAT"S what I saw so interested to see what the final cut is like.

This ending to the airport scene reminds me of the way Kaneko concluded the extraordinary Shibuya battle from Gamera 3. There we saw on the TV screen Gamera take flight from the flaming ruins after having slaughtered the Gyaos, which earlier we had viewed up close. That for me is one of the best sequences in all daikaiju films, so a nod to it is certainly fitting.

The Muto shown was a pale gray, almost a little translucent. It's clips were so quick that I couldn't get a bearing on what type of creature it may gave come from.

Excellent, Snowden! I had conjectured that the female MUTO must be the one coming from the nuclear proving ground in Nevada so as to then pass through Vegas on the way to San Francisco. That her egg was stored there along with other nuclear materials is the inadvertent cause for her hatching (that's what I wanted to know - thanks!). She likely took an ICBM along with her. And this explains that she and the male communicate over long distances. So she is heading west and he is heading east. After Godzilla beats him at the Hawaiian airport, the military take his carcass (on a ship?) and he revives, though now with wings and he flies east where he and his mate will meet in San Francisco for the final battle with Godzilla.

And Joe Brody was in Hawaii and injured there, so Ford sends him to San Francisco for care. I wonder if Joe is a step-father rather than biological father in the Darabont polish? In the final draft there seems to be a son, Sam, for Elle and Ford, and also a brother for Ford, too (from the Wikipedia cast list).

Man, That stuff is great!

Seems like theres a ton of backstory to the origins of the Mutos and Godzilla! Wonder if this is what the Graphic Novel will address?

SO excited!

Glad they changed Godzilla's height.

600 feet is WAY too big.

600 feet is way too friggin huge for Godzilla. A foe, yes. Godzilla himself?

Also I'm still chuckling at the 50 meters purists from last year.

100 meters is a pretty fair number. I was actually expecting something like 120 meters, but 107 works out just fine imo. 50 meters is pretty friggin huge (I worked at the main library in downtown a few times and got a good sense of scale there). But would get lost in a big American city (hell you saw that in Godzilla 2000). 80 Meters in Return of Godzilla was a good size too. Bigger than a lot of buildings, but dwarfed by the biggest buildings, and those big buildings meant nothing since he plowed through them anyway. A bit more believable to the mind's eye.

The way that is written the scene break to Ellie in SF must be right at the end of the Comic-con trailer. Interesting stuff Snowden.
Did a little math. Apparently the USS Harry S. Truman is able to trail Godzilla across the Pacific.
It can sustain 35 knots. At that speed it would take Godzilla almost 6 days to reach
San Francisco from Tokyo. Plenty of time to set up a military attack.

Haha Pikmin, you really think Diablo and I are the same person?

I was just browsing Snorkel Land and your posts crack me up. You're like Peter when Jesus is crucified. Tell them you believe in me! Hahaha, putting quotes around script. Silly goose.

For your transgressions, I have decided to punish Ernest.

He is now in time out.

Let that be a lesson to you all.

i notice that in this script, the military is botching G's name,is there a point in the script where everyone, calls him Godzilla. Also how is the military portrayed in this script? competent,or bungling?,doing more damage than the monsters?
