YES!! I really didn't think it was gonna happen for awhile. Can't wait to hear more! It'll be a nice note leave on before the end of the world. :lol: Godzilla and Star Trek 2 scheduled for 2012, I can't wait!

Just awesome!! Now, the wait begins.....

I wouldlove to see this in 3D. I know, I know. Alot of people aren't fans of the new 3D craze but, it just gets my nerd juices flowing to picture sitting in the theater and having to duck when the big G's tail comes swinging at you. I am not too worried about them doing another GINO becasue it seems that Toho wants to be involved this time.

Speaking of which, does anyone else think that this will be the end of Godzilla as we knew him? It says that they are planing to release it in Japan too. Will Toho make their own movie of him after the Japanese fans get a taste of a good American G(if that happens)?

This news is the best of all, plus the return of "King Kong", "Gaiking", "Robot Taekwon V", "Mortis Rex", "Cloverfield:2"[whenever it get's off the ground] and atleast 3 other big budget Hollywood giant monster films that I'll be sharing soon!! Ahh, a new age of big budget giant monsters on the big screen!! These and a slew of low budget giant monster flicks including a few new daikaiju films!!

Man I was only what....4 months off....LOL.

I am glad this came to fruition and honestly hope they do proper justice to the subject and at the same time utilize the best techniques available to bring the big G to life...no matter what the effect style, and use it to allow Godzilla to be as fully realized as possible without going over the top.

As for Banno...IMO he will be a consultant, it is likely that the time and money he may have already invested into 3-D to the Max was a factor but nevertheless, let's all hope that Legendary follows their current run of some real good movies and keeps it going....Need to start looking at release dates for Legendary movies to figure when we may get a teaser trailer....:D

Article from Empire seems to believe that this is a separate thing from Banno or am I reading this wrong?

Confirming a report first offered by the lads at Bloody Disgusting, the two companies have now closed a deal with Japanese owners Toho to bring the iconic monster back to life, presumably in 3D. And probably IMAX 3D, to boot. Though they’d only be the second team to try that: director Yoshimitsu Banno who made 1971’s Godzilla Vs Hedorah, has secured funding for a 3D IMAX 40-minute version due next year



Perhaps they have their info wrong? :dunno:
