Ok, here's my take on the two designs.....

I think that the tall, slim Godzilla maquette is basically the one used in the mood piece last year, look at the head/neck/dorsal plates. The slightly upturned nose, short brow etc.

I think people get reminded of GINO because it is quite slender and long, the color and smoother skin.

What I saw in the new trailer was broader IMO from what I could actually see, more like bearzilla. The skin looked more textured and barky and darker. Again it was night but it looked a bit darker.

The dorsal plates were more aggressive than bearzilla, even a bit more than the most recently shown maquette. They appeared silverish as well, not purple as I could see.

The feet were stumpy like both maquettes. That seemed to be a theme on their designs and is the one thing I can confirm. Again, it's not a bit issue as I think there is a practical aspect to the design we don't yet know, most likely because of his upright stance as opposed to a T Rex/Gino lean where the reverse ankle lower leg is required for balance. Perhaps longer toes actually caused the look of an upright Godzilla walking because the longer the toes the higher the leg lift and while it may work in man in suit, it may just have looked weird when trying to portray a living animal and by changing the foot structure to a, dare I say a Diplodocus Image Do some research and take a look because if you look, that's the type of lower leg that can support the massive weight.

Oh, for sure, it's deff realistic. Well, more realistic. People still have every right to debate whether or not it works form aesthetically.

I like the designs but don't like the flat elephant feet. Most bipedal creatures do not have that type of foot structure. Elephants are four legged so it makes sense that they have a round foot structure to dissipate more weight on four legs that two. Humans and most two legged animals have a long foot to dissipate the weight. Same goes with most dinos that walk bipedally. I would rather have the lagers footed Godzilla than the elephant footed one for a realistic stand point which is what the said they were going for. I would also say Godzilla should walk a little more of a leaned forward type of position but thats my .02 cents. I will now return to the shadows and lurk around.
Here are some closer pics of that maquette that was up on that shelf... The one we could only see in pics from afar (until now).

It's "canklezilla"! Seriously though, for a creature that spends so much time in the water, those feet aren't going to provide much propulsion. And if he steps on any soft ground, he's gonna get stuck pretty quick. Other than the feet though, the design looks okay, imo.

So, I don't post here very often, or anywhere for that matter. But I've been lurking for a long time, and I recently had a minor mind-blown moment when I realized that I've had this account for about ten years. Crazy.

I'm not sure if this has been thoroughly discussed, or even mentioned in this thread, but it was enough of a thought to bring me out of hiding and contribute to a conversation I've been watching from afar. I know a lot of fans are excited to see a trailer, or even an official reveal of the new design, and it occurred to me that the GodzillaEncounter website has been slowly making it's way through a series of timeline landmarks. I'm wondering if this means that when it gets to the present day something new might be revealed.

Any thoughts?

I suggested that a few pages back (probably 10 pages by this point). I'd say we'll get some kind of new info.
Cool, glad I could contribute.
